All set for clash of the islands in International Soca Monarch

Everything is set for the finals of the International Soca Monarch tonight. 

Fay Ann Lyons-Alvarez, Chairman of Caribbean Prestige Foundation (CPF), said the show will be a fantastic one.

Billed as the Clash of the Islands, ISM will see Trinidadian artists going head to head with their regional counterparts, five of whom are from Grenada.

Mr Killa is the heavy favourite to walk away with the Power Soca title and by extension, the ISM crown.

Speaking at a press conference this morning organised by Grenada’s Spice Mas Corporation, Mr Killa said the competition will be like a movie.

He said his heart is full of joy to be able to walk in his dream.

There will be three competitions tonight: the Producer’s Pick which will feature four new artists, the Groovy Soca and the Power Soca categories.

The categories will be punctuated with performances from guest artistes.

Lyons-Alvarez said so far she is impressed with the quality of the props the artistes are using for the competition.

“They are hella elaborate,” she said.

She assured that prizes will be distributed tonight immediately after the winners are announced.

Showtime is at 8 pm.
